ECHS Clement Town Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), which runs under the Ministry of Defence, is filling four contractual posts at the ECHS Polyclinic, Clement Town, Dehradun. The drive mixes one senior medical role, a Medical Specialist, with three support roles: Female Attendant, Safai Wala and Peon. The polyclinic treats retired soldiers and their families, so the work centres on ex-servicemen patients and their dependants.

Selection is handled locally by Station Headquarters (ECHS Cell) Clement Town through a paper application and a personal interview. Ex-servicemen get preference across all four posts, so retired service personnel with the right experience are well placed, but civilians can apply too.

Posts and Disciplines

• Medical Specialist: a specialist doctor with an MD/MS or DNB in the speciality concerned and post-PG experience; 60% of this post is reserved for ex-servicemen.
• Female Attendant: a support role on the clinic floor for a literate candidate with several years of work experience; 70% reserved for ex-servicemen.
• Safai Wala: keeps the polyclinic clean and hygienic; open to literate candidates with prior work experience; 70% reserved for ex-servicemen.
• Peon: an office support post asking for Class 8 education and a General Duty (GD) trade from the Armed Forces; 70% reserved for ex-servicemen.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract length: The engagement is for one year for ex-servicemen and 11 months for civilian candidates.
• Unpaid training: Before signing the contract you must complete 10 days of On the Job Training (OJT) and get a certificate from the OIC Polyclinic. These training days are unpaid and compulsory.
• Fixed pay: Each post carries a fixed remuneration, not a pay-matrix scale with increments.
• Different age caps: The Medical Specialist post has a much higher upper age limit than the three support posts, which suits retired service doctors.
• Only qualified candidates: Apply only if you fully meet the qualification and experience requirement.
• Travel cost: No TA or DA is paid for attending the interview.

Fill the ECHS application form from the official ECHS website and send it with self-attested copies of your education and experience certificates to the OIC, ECHS Cell, Station Headquarters Clement Town, Dehradun. Applications received after 1600 hrs on the closing day are not accepted.
