District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Jangaon is recruiting its team afresh under Mission Vatsalya. The District Child Protection Society is offering contractual appointments covering child protection, legal support, counselling, administration and outreach. The Collector and District Magistrate chairs the selection committee, and local candidates receive priority under the stated local-cadre rules.

• District Child Protection Officer: The senior child-protection post in the district unit.
• Protection Officers: Separate posts cover Institutional Care and Non-Institutional Care.
• Legal cum Probation Officer: The unit's legal and probation-related position.
• Counsellor: A counselling post within the child-protection team.
• Social Workers: The scheme provides separate male and female posts.
• Accountant: The accounts position in the unit.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract status: Engagement is with the District Child Protection Society for one year at a time. It does not create a right to regular government employment. The contract can end under its own terms.
• Extension: Renewal depends on the Collector's annual performance review, continuation of Mission Vatsalya and availability of funds. You should treat the appointment as linked to the scheme and its funding.
• Local priority: Jangaon local candidates, as defined by the applicable local-cadre order, are considered first in merit order. Non-local applicants are considered only when no suitable local applicant is available.
• Roster: Each category begins at the open-competition point of its roster. The separate male and female Social Worker and Outreach Worker posts follow the scheme's staffing provisions.
• Previous staff: Current and former unit staff can apply, and their unit service can count towards experience. They receive no additional preference beyond the notification's stated provisions.
• Work conditions: You must protect the confidentiality of children's records, travel within the district when work needs it and avoid taking up another job during the engagement.
• Appointment checks: Appointment depends on police clearance and confirmation of certificates with their issuing authorities. Failure of certificate confirmation can end the contract without notice.
• Recruitment notices: Follow the district website and Collectorate notice board for updates; the office will not send individual messages. The Collector may alter or cancel the recruitment, and no travel allowance is payable.

Application Submission Notes

Use the handwritten form in Annexure I and apply for one post only. Deliver it to the Inward Section, Collectorate, Integrated District Offices Complex, Jangaon, or send it by registered or speed post with the post name on the envelope; the District Welfare Officer's office and the unit itself do not receive applications.

Counter applicants receive their hall ticket with the acknowledgment. Postal applicants collect it at the examination-venue help desk between 8:30 AM and 9:15 AM; counter hours are 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM on working days, with the notified Saturday session ending at 1:00 PM.
