ASDMA Project Officer Disaster Management Recruitment 2026: Overview

Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) is hiring a Project Officer (Disaster Management) for a contractual assignment with a duty station in Guwahati, Assam. ASDMA will place the officer in a state government department, where the work will focus on that department's disaster management needs. You will work under the department's senior-most Secretary, while ASDMA sets the standards for the assignment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract period: The initial engagement lasts one year. Renewal depends on your performance, ASDMA continuing its support to the department, and funds being available under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
• No regular appointment claim: This contract gives you no right to regularisation or another appointment with the state government. The engagement ends automatically when its agreed term finishes.
• Departmental placement: ASDMA decides which state government department you join. The department supervises your work within the duties and standards laid down by ASDMA.
• Scope of work: Your assignment must remain connected to disaster management. If another authority directs you to take up unrelated work, you must refer the matter to ASDMA for instructions.
• Working hours: You follow the hours applicable to Assam government employees. Work demands may also require you to stay beyond normal office timings.
• Leave: The contract provides 12 days of casual leave. ASDMA decides any other leave available to the person appointed.
• Ending the contract: Either side can end the arrangement by giving 15 working days of written notice. Unsatisfactory work, misconduct or a breach of the contract can also lead to termination.
• Handover: When leaving, you must help transfer your responsibilities and return the authority's records, confidential information and property. ASDMA can recover damages for missing property and may withhold release until the handover is complete.
• Outside activities: You need written permission before taking up outside work or business that could harm ASDMA's interests. The authority's office may be used only for the services covered by your engagement.
• Contact details and policies: Keep ASDMA informed of changes to your address and contact information. Its operating policies, including later amendments, apply throughout the engagement.
• Travel for recruitment: You will not receive travel or daily allowance for attending the recruitment tests or interview.
• Contract disputes: Matters concerning the agreement fall under the jurisdiction of tribunals and courts in Guwahati.
