AIIMS Rajkot Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rajkot is hiring project staff for an ICMR-funded research project run by its Department of Biochemistry. The project, called SAS-India (Subclinical Atherosclerosis Score for India), is building a non-invasive tool to detect hidden artery disease in Indian patients with Type-2 diabetes who show no symptoms yet. The principal investigator is Dr. Ragini Singh.

Both posts are purely contractual project positions. You start with a short initial term that can be extended up to a year or until the project ends, depending on your performance and continued funding from ICMR. It suits life-science PhD holders looking for clinical research experience, and lab technicians who want to work on a funded study at a new AIIMS.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical): the scientist seat for a PhD holder in biological or biomedical sciences. Indexed publications, clinical research or data management experience, statistical software skills and past work on multicentric or extramural projects give you an edge.
• Project Technical Support-II: the laboratory support role for candidates with a DMLT/MLT diploma after 12th Science or a three-year life-science graduate degree, each with lab experience. Working knowledge of MS Office, blood sample collection, sample processing and data management is listed as desirable.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• No claim to a regular post: You will not be treated as a regular employee of AIIMS Rajkot or the Government of India, and you get no benefits beyond the fixed consolidated pay set by the funding agency.
• Contract end: The contract ends automatically when the term is over or if ICMR withdraws support. Either side can end it with 30 days' notice or pay in lieu.
• HRA: If the funding agency's rules allow HRA, it is paid at the rate for Rajkot city (Class Y).
• Posting and travel: You normally work at the study site but may be moved to other study sites. Shifts, night duty, field visits and outstation travel may be needed.
• No accommodation: The institute gives no hostel or other housing.
• NOC: If you work in a government body, PSU or another AIIMS Rajkot project, bring a No Objection Certificate to the interview.
• Post count: The number of posts may go up or down as ICMR and the project require, and the PI may relax or alter qualifications.
• Travel costs: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview, and requests to change the interview date are not accepted.
