Age limit
18 to 35 years as on 1 July 2026.
Age relaxation:
- Post-wise base ages: Others: most posts 18 to below 30; VAO 21 to below 30; forest posts 21 to below 30; Executive Officer 25 to below 35.
- Reserved communities: Most specified posts: BC(OBCM)/BCM/MBC/DC below 32; SC/SC(A)/ST below 35. VAO below 40; forest BC/OBCM/BCM/MBC/DC below 33 and SC/SC(A)/ST below 35; Executive Officer BC/OBCM/MBC/DC below 37 and SC/SC(A)/ST below 40. Post-specific exceptions apply.
- Higher qualification and specified posts: No maximum age for specified reserved-category posts and qualifying higher-education cases marked in the notice. This means below 60 at the reference date and selection/appointment; it does not extend to VAO or forest posts.
- PwBD, ex-servicemen and destitute widows: Post- and community-specific limits in section 4.1 apply. PwBD generally receive 10 additional years for suitable posts. Forest posts are not identified for PwBD. Forest ex-servicemen: below 35 after deducting defence service.

Exam pattern
You take a single OMR objective paper at SSLC level with 200 questions for 300 marks in 3 hours.
- Part A: Tamil Eligibility cum Scoring Test, 100 questions for 150 marks.
- Part B: General Studies, 75 questions.
- Part C: Aptitude and Mental Ability, 25 questions. Parts B and C together carry 150 marks.
