OUAT Consultant and Field Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) is engaging project staff through its College of Agriculture, Bhubaneswar for the Maruti-assisted Fermented Organic Manure (FOM) project. The project researches FOM and spreads awareness among farmers so they start using it. This is a contractual engagement that ends with the project, and selection happens through a walk-in interview held in the office of the Dean of Research.

The drive suits two very different profiles: a retired professor who can plan and supervise the work, and matriculates with hands-on agricultural research experience who can do the field and lab work at the Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and the headquarters.

Posts and Disciplines

• Consultant: open to retired Professors of Soil Science or Agronomy; the qualification must match what Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) approved for the project.
• Field Assistant: for Matriculation pass candidates with agricultural research experience; the work is spread across the project's KVK sites and the OUAT headquarters.

Post-wise Duties

Consultant

You will prepare the plan of work for the FOM project, oversee the whole programme and handle the project reports.

Field Assistant

You will help with field and lab work, collect samples, run trials and support the lab analysis of the project at the KVKs and the headquarters.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tied to the project: the engagement is co-terminus with the project, and you cannot claim a regular post under OUAT or the Government later.
• Term: up to three years or the end of the project, whichever comes first.
• Leaving early: you must give the Principal Investigator one month's notice; otherwise you deposit one month's pay before you are relieved.
• Termination: OUAT can end the engagement at any time without notice, including for indiscipline or failure to do the assigned work.
• Number of posts: the university may raise or cut the number of positions, or cancel the interview, depending on project needs.
• Written test if crowded: if more than 15 candidates turn up for a post, the assessment includes a written exam and a skill test.
• No-objection certificate: if you are working now, bring an NOC from your present employer.
• No TA/DA: you will not be paid travel costs for attending.
• Canvassing: hiding facts or canvassing leads to disqualification, even after joining.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form. Fill in the Annexure-I application format attached to the notice, sign it, and bring it to the Committee Room of the Dean of Research, OUAT, Bhubaneswar - 751003 with self-attested copies of your certificates, age proof, experience certificate and a passport-size photo. Report by 10:00 AM for document checking; without original certificates from HSCE onwards you will not be allowed to sit the interview. Any change in schedule will be posted on www.ouat.ac.in, so check the site before you travel.
