DSSSB Sweeper and Chowkidar Recruitment 2026: Overview

Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) is recruiting Sweeper/Safai Karamchari and Chowkidar staff for Delhi's District & Sessions Courts. These are Group C court establishment posts, with DSSSB handling recruitment on behalf of the courts. The courts remain responsible for their reservation roster, suitability decisions and final appointments.

Posts and Disciplines

• Sweeper/Safai Karamchari, post code 46/26: This is the cleaning-support designation in the District & Sessions Courts establishment. Use its own post code when choosing your application.
• Chowkidar, post code 47/26: This is the watch-and-ward designation in the same court establishment. It has a separate application identity from the Sweeper/Safai Karamchari post.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Provisional candidature: An accepted application or admit card does not establish your right to appointment. The court department will check whether your claims meet the recruitment rules before making an appointment.
• Reservation responsibilities: The District & Sessions Courts determine the roster and disability suitability of the posts. DSSSB uses the vacancy information supplied by the courts.
• Delhi OBC rules: Only applicants covered by the specified Delhi OBC certificate rules can claim OBC benefits. Applicants with outside-Delhi OBC status that does not meet those rules must apply under the unreserved category.
• Open-merit consideration: Reserved-category applicants selected without relaxed standards can be placed against unreserved vacancies. This depends on your merit position and the standards used for your selection.
• Disability suitability: A post's disability suitability and its reserved roster are separate matters. A person with a suitable disability can be considered on open merit even where no disability-reserved place is shown.
• Application accuracy: Check your chosen category and all entries before submission. The Board will not accept later requests to change or correct the submitted particulars.
• Recruitment changes: The courts may increase or reduce the notified positions, and DSSSB may modify or cancel the advertisement or examination arrangements. An application does not guarantee that the advertised position will be filled.
• Examination centres: Centres may be in Delhi, the National Capital Region or another state chosen by DSSSB. You cannot request a different examination date, time or centre.
• Language of the notice: If translated versions differ, the English version takes precedence. Check updates on the Board's website rather than relying only on email or text messages.

Application Submission Notes

You need one DSSSB online registration, which you can reuse for the Board's examinations. Creating multiple registrations can lead to cancellation and debarment.

You may file only one application per post code. Keep your registration details and contact information accurate, because the portal uses them throughout recruitment; the notice does not provide a later correction route.
