BHU Project Research Scientist-II Recruitment 2026: Overview

Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, wants a Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) for an ICMR-supported research project in the Department of Gastroenterology, Institute of Medical Sciences. The study is titled "Evaluation of Macrophage Polarization in Intestinal Tissue and T-cell Immune Profiling for Differentiation of Intestinal Tuberculosis and Crohn's Disease: An Immunological study" (project code P14/0827), led by Dr. Dawesh Prakash Yadav, Associate Professor and Principal Investigator.

The project tries to tell apart two gut diseases that look alike in the clinic, intestinal tuberculosis and Crohn's disease, by studying immune cells in tissue and blood. This is a non-medical research post, so it suits life-science researchers with lab experience rather than doctors. If you have worked with human blood and tissue samples, immunohistochemistry or flow cytometry, your profile fits well.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Temporary post: The post is purely temporary and ends with the project, which runs for a maximum of three years.
• Preference rule: All things being equal, SC/ST candidates are preferred as per Government of India rules.
• Interview by shortlist: Only shortlisted candidates are told about the interview, by email.
• No travel allowance: No TA/DA is paid if you are called for a physical interview.
