Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) Project Associate I Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

ARI, an autonomous institute under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, has released Advertisement No. ADVT/RecT/MACS-ARI/12/ARI-004/2026-27 for 1 Project Associate I post in the Bioenergy Group. The position is under the MACS-ARI Microbial Culture Collection Activity, coordinated by Dr. P.K. Dhakephalkar (Director) and Dr. Kamlesh Jangid (Scientist E), and runs until 31 August 2028. Selection is through an online interview — there is no written exam. Candidates who can analyze NGS data for microbial genomics and community analysis will have an added advantage.

Note: This is a temporary, project-funded post. Selected candidates get no right to appointment against any ARI or funding agency post beyond the project.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: First Class M.Sc./M.Tech in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Bioinformatics
• Preferred: Demonstrated experience analyzing NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) data for microbial genomics and community analysis
• Note: The essential qualifications listed are the minimum required — simply possessing them does not entitle you to an interview call. Equivalence of qualifications is decided by the Institute's selection committee

Age Limit

• You should be under 35 years old as on the closing date of the advertisement.
• Age Relaxation: Available for OBC, SC, ST and other categories as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• You will get a monthly stipend of Rs. 30,000 plus HRA.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this post. Selection happens in these stages:

2. Online Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed online; the date and time will be announced on the ARI website.

No TA is paid for attending the interview, and being shortlisted does not guarantee appointment against any ARI or funding agency post.
