TISS Teaching Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

The School of Human Ecology at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai is looking for one part-time Teaching Assistant for its Certification in Trauma-Informed Care (CTIC). TISS is a deemed university funded by the Ministry of Education, and the CTIC is one of its short-term programmes (STP). The post is fully remote, so you can work from anywhere while supporting the course team.

This is a support role, not a teaching one. The notice is clear that you will not conduct classes yourself. Instead, you help the Faculty-in-Charge with course material, student coordination, evaluation records and research documentation, and you create posters and announcements for TISS's official social media channels. It suits you if you hold a master's in clinical or counselling psychology and want trauma-focused academic experience alongside your own practice.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Working hours: The work follows the course timetable: weekday evenings from 5:45 to 8:15 pm and weekday afternoons from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, three days a week.
• Tenure: The engagement runs for eight months, from 1 November 2026 to 30 June 2027, and ends with the certificate course.
• Unreserved post: The position is unreserved, but reserved-category candidates can still apply.
• Joining time: You must join within 15 days of being selected.
• Working candidates: If you have a job now, bring a No Objection Certificate from your employer to the interview.
• Relaxation: TISS may relax qualification or experience rules in exceptional cases, or for people already in a similar post in government, academia or industry.
• Shortlisting: Meeting the qualifications does not guarantee an interview call.
• No travel allowance: TISS pays no TA/DA for the interview, and canvassing of any kind leads to disqualification.
