SCTIMST Project Technical Support I Recruitment 2026: Overview

Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), an Institution of National Importance under the Department of Science and Technology, is hiring one Project Technical Support I at its Biomedical Technology Wing in Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram. The post is part of an ICMR-funded project (P.8282) studying whether stem-cell-derived extracellular vesicles can treat pulmonary fibrosis. This is a temporary project post filled through a walk-in interview. It suits an MLT or Biotechnology candidate who enjoys bench work in cell culture and molecular biology.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Reserved post: The single vacancy is reserved for OBC. If no eligible OBC candidate turns up, SC candidates are considered, and after that UR candidates.
• Tenure: The engagement runs up to 9 March 2027 and is likely to be extended up to 9 March 2029.
• Experience counts only after qualification: Any experience the notice asks for must be gained after you earned the essential qualification.
• Desirable skills: Hands-on work in cell culture, biochemical, molecular biology and histology techniques gives you an edge.
• Working candidates: If you are already employed, bring a No Objection Certificate from your current employer.
• No travel allowance: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

• Run routine cell culture work for the project team
• Perform protein estimation, ELISA reactions and RNA isolation
• Set up PCR reactions, PAGE and Western blotting
• Prepare histology sections for the research samples
• Handle purchase-related matters for the project
• Assist the Principal Investigator with other project tasks
