The Supreme Court of India (SCI) is recruiting Court Masters (Shorthand) through deputation from High Courts and District Courts. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial appointment: Deputation begins with a one-year term and may be extended to three years. The extension is a possibility, rather than an automatic part of the initial appointment.
• Combined deputation period: The normal three-year limit also counts deputation immediately before this appointment in another ex-cadre post in a Central Government organisation or department. Your previous deputation period therefore matters when the total tenure is considered.
• Release from your court: The forwarding authority should send your application only if your services can be spared when you are selected. This condition connects the application with your current employment arrangements.
• Pay fixation: The Government of India instructions in force will govern fixation of pay on deputation. The advertised scale does not replace those rules.
• Completeness: The Registry will reject applications that bypass the proper channel, remain unsigned or are incomplete. Check that your forwarding office sends a complete application in the prescribed format.
