Presidency University (PU) is hiring a Junior Research Fellow for a short-term research project in its Department of Life Sciences in Kolkata. The project, funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), studies transcription factors as optoswitches under principal investigator Dr. Devrani Mitra.

The project is titled Characterization and Design of Transcription Factors as Optoswitches: Bringing Light to Gene Expression. This gives you the scientific focus of the opening: transcription factors and light-linked control of gene expression, within a Life Sciences research setting.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Short engagement: The fellowship runs for five months. The notice describes a short-term project appointment, so keep that limited duration in mind when planning your availability.
