IISER Tirupati PDRF Mathematics Recruitment 2026

IISER Tirupati Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati (IISER Tirupati) is offering a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow opportunity in Mathematics through its postdoctoral research programme. The institute is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Education. The fellowship places you with a research group and a faculty mentor, so your proposed work needs to fit the research support available at Tirupati.

Posts and Disciplines

• Analytic Number Theory: This is one of the Mathematics research areas named for the fellowship. Discuss your proposed project with a faculty member working in this area.
• Algebraic Number Theory: The programme also accepts proposals in this area. Your research plan should connect with the work of a potential host mentor.
• Algebraic Geometry: This area is included in the same fellowship call. The institute expects applicants to identify a research project with a mentor before applying.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Fellowship tenure: The initial award lasts one year. A further year depends on a review of your performance. The extension is therefore a separate decision after the initial appointment.
• Research group: You must associate with a specific group according to the facilities and mentoring your project needs. Contact the relevant faculty before applying so that the proposed work has an identified host.
• Research support: The programme includes a nominal research grant. The notice does not give a grant amount or a separate spending schedule.

Application Submission Notes

The notice makes a clear distinction between contacting a potential mentor and filing your application. Faculty discussions help you identify a project, but an application emailed to an individual faculty member will not be considered; use the named Google Form for the application itself.

For questions about the fellowship, the notice lists souradeep@labs.iisertirupati.ac.in and ksrinivas@labs.iisertirupati.ac.in. These are enquiry contacts, while the application form remains the route prescribed for recruitment.

• Develop a Mathematics research project with a host faculty mentor.
• Conduct research in the selected analytic number theory, algebraic number theory or algebraic geometry area.
• Work with the research group suited to the project.
• Use the group’s research facilities and mentoring support to carry out the proposed work.
• Assist faculty with undergraduate teaching.
