IGKV Korba Guest Teacher Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Chhattisgarh's state agricultural university, wants Guest Teachers / Part Time Teachers for its College of Agriculture and Research Station (CARS), Katghora in Korba district. The teachers will handle B.Sc. Ag. (Hons.) undergraduate classes for the second semester of 2026-27 and the first semester of 2027-28, so the engagement spans roughly two semesters.

Pay is a daily honorarium with a monthly ceiling, and the rate rises with your qualification — a Ph.D. or a NET pass moves you to a higher slab. This is a good opening if you hold a master's or Ph.D. in Agriculture or Veterinary Science and want college teaching experience. Posts and Disciplines

• Entomology: guest teaching for the insect science and crop pest courses of the B.Sc. Ag. (Hons.) programme at CARS Katghora.
• Livestock Production and Management (LPM): guest teaching for the animal husbandry and livestock courses; a master's in Veterinary Science also counts for this discipline.

Both posts follow the same qualification rule: a master's in the relevant subject with good marks, plus NET and one NAAS-rated publication — NET is waived only for a Ph.D. done with UGC 2009 course work and at least two full-length papers with a NAAS rating of 4 or more.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Temporary engagement: The post lasts one academic session or until a regular teacher joins, whichever is earlier. It gives you no claim to a regular IGKV post.
• Daily pay with a cap: You are paid for each day you teach, but the monthly total cannot cross the ceiling for your qualification slab.
• PG fallback: If no eligible candidate is found, the committee may engage post-graduates as part-time teachers on a period basis under university rules.
• Performance clause: Services can be withdrawn with one week's notice for unsatisfactory work, and false credentials or misconduct lead to removal.
• Affidavit: Selected candidates sign an affidavit on Rs. 50 stamp paper accepting the university's terms.
• No travel allowance: No TA/DA is paid for the interview, and canvassing in any form means disqualification.
• Age relaxation: Five years for SC, ST, OBC and women candidates under Chhattisgarh Government rules.
