ICG Multi Post Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Coast Guard (ICG), under the Ministry of Defence, is recruiting enrolled personnel through the Coast Guard Enrolled Persons Test (CGEPT) for batches 01/2027 and 02/2027. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) handles the online application route named in the notice. This is an entry into Coast Guard service, with basic training at INS Chilka followed by sea training and professional training in the allotted trade.
Posts and Disciplines
- Navik General Duty: The general duty branch appears in both batches. Male recruitment is organised by zone, while the female intake uses an all-India pool.
- Navik Domestic Branch: This branch is part of the 02/2027 intake and is recruited on an all-India basis.
- Hygienist-I: This is a separate cadre in the 02/2027 intake, also recruited nationally.
- Yantrik Mechanical: The mechanical technical stream belongs to the 01/2027 intake.
- Yantrik Electrical: The electrical technical stream is included in the same Yantrik intake.
- Yantrik Electronics: The electronics stream completes the technical branches covered by this notice. All Yantrik streams use an all-India recruitment pool.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Batch allocation: If you apply for Navik General Duty, ICG decides your batch using merit, available places and administrative needs. You cannot claim a particular batch.
- Zonal recruitment: The male Navik General Duty pool is divided into North, West, East, South and Central zones, with a separate merit list for each. Your domicile determines the zone rather than your preferred examination city.
- Reservation availability: Reserved-category applicants may compete as unreserved applicants where their zone has no vacancy in their category. In that situation, the notice withdraws the related category concessions, so check the zone information displayed during registration.
- Tentative intake: ICG may change the advertised intake. Passing the recruitment requirements does not, by itself, guarantee a place in the final merit list.
- Training allocation: Your branch or trade depends on service needs and performance during basic training. Unsatisfactory progress or conduct can lead to discharge during training.
- Family arrangements: You cannot marry or keep your family with you during training. Consider this condition before accepting a training place.
- Application choice: You may apply for only one post in this recruitment cycle. If you send multiple applications, only the latest is considered and the earlier ones are rejected.
- Accuracy matters: ICG checks your identity and application information repeatedly. False declarations can lead to cancellation during recruitment or discharge after enrolment.
- Centre allocation: Your preferred examination city is not guaranteed. ICG may assign a different centre, and you cannot request a change after allocation.
- Reporting and travel: Report to the training establishment at your own expense as instructed in your call letter. Late arrival is not accepted under the notice.
- Recruitment updates: Check your registered email, mobile messages and dashboard regularly. ICG publishes any corrigendum through SSC, and the English advertisement takes precedence over the Hindi version.

தேர்வு முறை
You take a computer-based objective test with 100 questions for 100 marks. You get 1 hour, and each question carries 1 mark.
- Language: Hindi and English.
- Negative marking: None.
- Passing marks: 40 for UR/EWS/OBC and 35 for SC/ST, subject to the notice's category concession rules.
- Syllabus: The notice points you to the portal for the detailed syllabus and does not give a subject-wise marks split.
- Normalisation: Scores are normalised if the test runs in multiple shifts.
Stage II includes a qualifying fitness test, an online/OMR assessment and adaptability test, document checks and recruitment medical examination. Adaptability-test marks do not count towards final merit.
Stage III includes identity and document checks and pre-enrolment medicals at INS Chilka. Stage IV authenticates original records with issuing authorities.
Tentative schedule: Stage I is planned for early/mid November 2026 and Stage II for end February 2027. Stage III is planned for early May 2027 for batch 01/27 and mid October 2027 for batch 02/27. Exact dates and admit-card availability will be announced.

- Navik GD male: valid domicile certificate for zone assignment. Other cadres: domicile certificate when seeking height relaxation
- Applicable SC/ST/OBC non-creamy-layer/EWS certificate in the prescribed format, with matching application address. OBC certificate should carry QR/bar code
- Post-specific Class 10, Class 12, ITI and diploma marksheets and certificates, including all diploma semesters and additional marksheets where applicable
- Hygienist-I: Class 8 marksheet and Class 10 records if completed, plus ITI records as applicable
- Service certificate/NOC for serving personnel or government employees, where applicable
- Stage I: original identity proof, admit-card printout and 2 matching colour photographs
- Stage II: application and admit-card printouts, originals, 2 self-attested copy sets and 12 matching passport photographs
- Stage III: application/admit card, original records, 3 self-attested copy sets, 30 passport photographs and 10 blue-background photographs measuring 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm
- Stage III: police verification obtained after the application closing date, associated enrolment forms, Aadhaar and an Aadhaar-linked mobile number
- Upload original scans, not photocopy scans. Documents must be in Hindi/English or accompanied by an English translation. All pages must be legible and complete
- Relevant uploaded certificates must be issued by the application closing date and valid at least through 31 December 2027. Carry old and renewed certificates where a certificate expires before later stages
- Yantrik: signed provisional diploma certificate accepted at Stage II if the original is unavailable, but original diploma mandatory at Stage III
- SC/ST travel concession claim at Stage II: additional admit card, original category certificate and 2 attested copies, original travel tickets, cancelled cheque and travel form

For Navik GD you need Class 12 with Maths and Physics, and for Navik DB you need Class 10. Hygienist-I accepts Matriculation/ITI or equivalent. Yantrik needs the notified engineering diploma with the relevant school qualification. Check your post-specific birth-date window and gender conditions.
The notice directs you to register through www.ssc.gov.in and follow its online application instructions. You may apply for one post in this cycle.
Basic monthly pay is Rs. 21,700 for Navik GD, Navik DB and Hygienist-I, and Rs. 29,200 for Yantrik. Yantriks also receive Rs. 6,200 Yantrik pay, with applicable allowances.
The fee is Rs. 550, paid online. You are exempt if you are entitled to apply against SC/ST-category vacancies under the notice conditions.
