CCRAS RARI Ranikhet SRF Botany Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), under the Ministry of Ayush, is hiring a Senior Research Fellow (Botany) at its Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Thapla, Ranikhet in Almora district, Uttarakhand. The fellow will work on the project "Medico Ethno-Botanical exploration and documentation of traditional practices prevailing among local communities of Darma Valley".

This is a purely contractual, project-based engagement filled through a written test and walk-in interview on the same day. It suits M.Sc Botany graduates interested in field work on medicinal plants and the traditional health knowledge of Himalayan communities.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The appointment is first for six months. The competent authority can shorten or extend it, and it ends with the project.
• No permanent job: The post is purely contractual. You cannot claim continuation or a regular appointment later.
• Experience in the Hindi notice: The Hindi version of the advertisement lists 2 years of research or teaching experience as essential, with preference for experience in Botany. The English version does not mention this, so carry your experience certificates.
• Age cut-off date: The eligibility table counts age on the walk-in date, while the general conditions say age is counted as on 1 July 2026. Check your age against both dates.
• Preference: A Ph.D., or earlier work on a research project funded by the Ministry of Ayush, ICMR, CSIR, DST or a similar body, gives you an edge. Scientific writing skills, journal publications and working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint also count.
• No TA/DA: You get no travel or daily allowance for attending the test or interview.
• Vacancy and cancellation: The number of posts may change, and the Institute In-charge can cancel the recruitment without giving a reason.

Candidates who pass the written test are interviewed on the same day, and any change to the advertisement is posted only on the council's website.
