Bhattadev University Physical Education Recruitment 2026: Overview

Bhattadev University, a state university set up under an Assam Act of 2017 at Bajali, Pathsala, is staffing its Department of Physical Education and Sports. The drive fills the department's leadership, teaching and coaching roles together, from a Principal/Head down to Sports and Yoga Trainers. These are temporary engagements paid on a daily-rate basis, not regular university posts, so it suits physical-education postgraduates and coaches who want campus experience in western Assam.

The whole process is online: you apply by email and the interview happens over Google Meet, so you do not need to travel to Pathsala before selection.

Posts and Disciplines

• Principal/Head: the senior post that leads the department. It needs a Ph.D. in Physical Education and long teaching experience, with part of it in a physical-education institute, college or department.
• Associate Professor: a senior teaching post for M.P.Ed. holders with teaching or research experience and a published record of books or research/policy papers.
• Assistant Professor: the entry-level teaching post and the largest group in this notice. An M.P.Ed. with 55% (or grade B on the UGC seven-point scale) is the core requirement.
• Sports Trainer: a coaching role for physical-education graduates or postgraduates who have specialised in at least one game or sport, or who hold a coaching diploma in a sport.
• Yoga Trainer: a yoga instruction role open to holders of a PG Diploma in Yoga.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement is purely temporary for one year. The university may extend it based on its needs and the approval of the competent authority.
• Daily-rate pay: Every post is paid per day, with a monthly ceiling fixed for each post, so your monthly earnings depend on the days you work.
• UGC and state rules: For the Principal/Head, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor posts, any further condition laid down by the UGC, the affiliating body or the Assam Government also applies.
• Experience for senior posts: For the Associate Professor post, the time you spent on your Ph.D. research does not count towards the teaching or research experience.
