The Directorate of Women and Child Development, Madhya Pradesh, has released a notification to fill 5 Juvenile Justice Board Member posts and 10 Child Welfare Committee Member and Chairperson posts in selected districts. These are non-official, social-sector roles created under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act. Who Can Apply?
For Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) Member
- You need a degree in Child Psychology, Psychiatry, Sociology, or Law, OR
- 7 years of experience in education, health, or welfare work for children.
For Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Member / Chairperson
- You need a degree in Psychiatry, Sociology, Human Health, Education, Human Development, Law, Social Work, or Child Psychology (or a degree in special education for children with disabilities), AND
- 7 years of active experience in child-related health, education, or welfare work.
These are non-official posts. You must not be a member of any political party or part of any child care institution management during your term.
Age Limit
- You should be between 35 and 65 years old as on 1 January 2026.
- Reserved category candidates get age relaxation as per Madhya Pradesh Government rules.
Salary
- Honorarium and sitting allowance will be paid as per Madhya Pradesh Government rules for JJB and CWC members.
- These are part-time, honorary roles, not regular salaried government posts.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection is done in two steps:
- Shortlisting on Merit: Applications are checked against the qualification and experience rules and shortlisted.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview before the selection committee, and the final list is prepared.

Responsibilities
- Hear and decide cases of children in conflict with the law (JJB) or children in need of care and protection (CWC)
- Make decisions in the best interest of the child as per the Juvenile Justice Act
- Conduct regular sittings of the Board or Committee
- Inspect child care institutions and review the welfare of children
- Coordinate with the police, child welfare officers, and NGOs
- Order rehabilitation, restoration, or adoption of children as needed
- Keep proper records of cases and orders passed

Minimum Qualification
Degree in Child Psychology / Psychiatry / Sociology / Law / Social Work / Human Health / Education / Human Development (or 7 years experience in child education, health, or welfare)
Preferred Qualification
Practising professional with a relevant degree and 7 years of child welfare experience
