Kerala PSC Lower Division Typist ST Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) has released Category No. 37/2026 for direct recruitment to the post of Lower Division Typist. This is an ST-only special recruitment, so applications from communities other than Scheduled Tribe will be rejected. The ranked list will be prepared for Kannur district, and Kerala PSC may also use it for future ST special-recruitment vacancies reported for the same post while the list is active.

The ranked list will normally remain valid for at least 1 year and may continue up to 3 years, unless a new ranked list is published after the minimum period. If you are advised from this district-wise list, transfer to another district is normally not allowed before completing 5 years of continuous service, except as per government rules.

Who Can Apply?

Community Requirement

• Special Recruitment: You must belong to the Scheduled Tribe community of Kerala State.

Special Qualification Notes

• Ex-servicemen: Malayalam Typewriting Lower is not compulsory at application time for ex-servicemen who completed normal service, but they must acquire it before completing probation if selected.
• Defence Clerical Service: Service as Clerk or Writer in the defence forces for at least 15 years can be treated as sufficient qualification for this post, subject to the notification rules.
• Linguistic Minority: If your first language in SSLC was not Malayalam, you may apply without Malayalam Typewriting Lower, but you must pass it before completing probation if selected.
• Certificate Rule: Typewriting proof must be from the Government; certificates from private typewriting institutes are not accepted as proof.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 45 years old.
• You must be born between 02 January 1981 and 01 January 2008, including both dates.
• Relaxation: If enough qualified candidates are not available in the normal age range, the upper age limit may be relaxed up to 50 years. It cannot go beyond 50 years.

Salary

• Pay scale: Rs. 26,500 to Rs. 60,700 per month.
• You will also get allowances and service benefits as per Kerala Government rules, wherever applicable.
• The post is a regular Kerala Government typing post filled through Kerala PSC special recruitment.

Selection Process

5. Ranked List and Advice: Appointment will be made from the district-wise ranked list for Kannur, including eligible headquarters vacancies as per rules.
6. Profile Messages: If Kerala PSC asks you to upload documents through your profile, complete it within the time allowed or you may not move to the next stage.
