Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad JRF Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) has released a notice dated 08 June 2026 for one JRF post in the project titled Investigating numerous realistic logjam scenarios in streams using model study: effects on the hydrodynamics and bed morphology. The position is in Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering under the Department of Civil Engineering at Kandi, Sangareddy, Telangana.

This is a purely time-bound research position linked to project funding from the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). The appointment starts for 6 months and may continue up to 3 years with renewal every 6 months, based on performance and funding. The notice also says there may be a chance to join the PhD programme, depending on performance and IIT Hyderabad rules.

Research work: The project focuses on realistic logjam scenarios in streams and their effect on hydrodynamics and bed morphology. You will work with flume studies, flow instruments, CFD modelling, sediment transport data and research publications. The notice keywords are natural stream, logjam, flume study, CFD, hydrodynamics and sediment transport, so this role is best for engineers who want both lab-based and modelling-based research.

Research opportunity: IIT Hyderabad says the selected JRF can gain experience in advanced hydraulic experimentation and CFD, contribute to academic publications, present findings at conferences and work with researchers in hydraulics, river engineering and environmental fluid mechanics. The notice also highlights a possible PhD pathway at IIT Hyderabad, subject to institute rules and performance.
