Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Qualification: You need a Master's degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade point average.

Experience Requirement

• Option 1: You need 6 years relevant experience in Pay Level 06 and above or equivalent.
• Option 2: You need 3 years relevant experience in Pay Level 07 and above or equivalent.
• Relevant areas: Legal, finance and accounts, establishment, materials management, academics, student welfare, R&D, secretarial services, hostel management or similar administration work.

Preferred Background

• Institution exposure: Familiarity with IITs, CFTIs, IISERs, IISc, NITs or similar central government institutions is desirable.
• Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills and experience in a computerised environment are desirable.

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 42 years as on the last date of application, 05 July 2026.
• PwBD: Age relaxation is applicable up to a maximum age of 56 years, as per rules.
• Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules.
• IIT Goa regular employees: Age limit is 57 years across cadres.
• Non-regular/contract staff of IIT Goa: Relaxation up to 57 years may apply if they have served the institute for at least 5 years.

Salary

• The Assistant Registrar post is in Pay Level 10 under the 7th CPC.
• Pay Level 10 salary range is Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month.
• Other allowances on basic pay will be paid as per Government of India rates applicable to IIT Goa.
• You may also get NPS contribution, medical facility, LTC and children education allowance as per institute and Government rules.

Selection Process

IIT Goa may conduct a written test or another evaluation process for this Pay Level 10 Group A post.

1. Application Scrutiny: Online applications will be screened against qualification, experience and uploaded documents.
2. Shortlisting Rule: If many applications are received, IIT Goa can add criteria based on academic performance, experience level, experience area, years of service or another relevant factor.
3. Written Test / Evaluation: IIT Goa may hold a written test or other evaluation process. This stage will be qualifying in nature.
4. Interview: Applicants who qualify the written/evaluation stage will be called for interview.
5. Final Selection: Final selection will be based only on performance in the interview.
6. Medical Fitness and Document Check: Appointment will be subject to medical fitness and verification of documents and antecedents.
