Who Can Apply?

Joint Director

• Service Requirement: You should hold an analogous post on regular basis, or have 5 years regular service in Pay Level 11 or equivalent.
• Qualification: You need a bachelor's degree, or a full-time law degree, or a master's/PG diploma/degree in listed food science, chemistry, biotechnology, microbiology, public health, life science, dairy, agriculture, horticulture, food safety, or related subjects.
• Desirable: MBA or equivalent is desirable for the bachelor's degree route.
• Higher Qualification Route: The notice also includes doctorate degree in the listed subject areas with published research work in the related field.

Manager (IT)

• Service Requirement: You should hold an analogous post on regular basis, or have 3 years regular service in Pay Level 7 or equivalent.
• Qualification: You need B.Tech, M.Tech in Computer Science or related engineering discipline, MCA, or bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Junior Assistant Grade-II

• Service Requirement: You should hold an analogous post on regular basis, or have 3 years regular service in Pay Level 1 or equivalent.
• Qualification: You need 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognised board or university.
• Experience: You should have experience in diary/dispatch work and computer typing.

Age Limit

• Maximum age for deputation appointment is 56 years.
• Age as on: Last date of online application, 26 June 2026.

Salary

• Joint Director: Pay Level 12, Rs. 78,800 to Rs. 2,09,200
• Manager (IT): Pay Level 11, Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700
• Junior Assistant Grade-II: Pay Level 2, Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200
• Terms of deputation pay will follow applicable Government of India / DoPT foreign service terms.
• For officers paid on IDA scale, the circular points to the IDA-CDA equivalency annexure for checking pay-level eligibility.

Selection Process (No Written Exam Mentioned)

The circular is for deputation appointment, so FSSAI has not announced a written exam. Selection will mainly depend on eligibility, service record, proper-channel documents, and approval by the competent authority.

The circular also says officers in the feeder cadre category who are in the direct line of promotion are not considered for deputation. Existing applicants from DEP-01/2025 for Joint Director and Manager (IT) do not need to apply again, but they should make sure their hard-copy documents are complete and sent through proper channel.
