Engineers India Limited (EIL) is a Schedule A Navratna CPSE in the industrial development and technical consultancy services sector under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. PESB has released advertisement 59/2026 dated 01 June 2026 for the board-level post of Director (Projects). This is a senior leadership role for experienced professionals who have handled major consultancy, engineering, EPC, technical, operations, or project-management work.

EIL works across hydrocarbon, infrastructure, nuclear, power, water, and waste-water sectors. The Director (Projects) is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman and Managing Director. The vacancy date is 01 June 2027, so age and residual service are checked with reference to that date.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Qualification: You must be an Engineering Graduate with a good academic record from a recognised university or institution.
• Preferred background: Experience in project management for domestic or overseas projects, especially in the hydrocarbon sector, is desirable.

Experience

• You need cumulative experience or exposure of at least 5 years during the last 10 years.
• Your experience should be at a senior management level in technical, operations, or project management work.
• The experience should be in a major consultancy organisation of repute.

Service Eligibility

• You must be employed in a regular capacity on the application date and interview date.
• Eligible applicants can come from CPSEs, Central Government Group A services, Armed Forces, All India Services, public sector banks, financial institutions, autonomous bodies, State PSUs, eligible private companies, joint ventures, or cooperative federations.
• For State PSUs, private companies, JVs, and federations, the annual turnover condition is Rs. 5,000 crore or more as per PESB rules.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 45 years as on the date of vacancy, 01 June 2027.
• Age of superannuation: 60 years.
• Internal candidates: You must have at least 2 years of residual service as on the vacancy date.
• Other candidates: You must have at least 3 years of residual service as on the vacancy date.

Salary

• Pay scale: Rs. 1,80,000 to Rs. 3,40,000 per month (IDA).
• CPSE schedule: Schedule A.
• You will also get DA, HRA, and other board-level allowances as per EIL, DPE, and Government of India rules.

Selection Process

Selection is handled by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).

1. Application Screening: PESB checks whether your qualification, experience, age, service status, and pay-scale eligibility match the job description.
2. Shortlisting: PESB may shortlist applicants for interview based on the notified guidelines.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a board-level interview.

Service and Pay-Scale Conditions

CPSE applicants must be in one of the notified eligible scales, such as Rs. 1,20,000 to Rs. 2,80,000 (IDA) or Level 14 CDA, depending on their service background. Internal candidates need 1 year in the eligible scale, while other CPSE candidates need 2 years in the eligible scale as on the date of vacancy.

Central Government Group A officers, All India Services officers, Armed Forces officers, and officers from public sector banks or financial institutions must satisfy the level mentioned in the PESB job description. Central Government and related service candidates are considered on immediate absorption basis. Private company and JV applicants must also submit turnover and listing-related proof, where applicable.
