Delhi State Cancer Institute Director Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
Delhi State Cancer Institute (DSCI), Delhi is a cancer care institute functioning under the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of NCT of Delhi. The department has released a recruitment notice for the Director post in the institute. This is a senior Category A medical leadership role for doctors who have strong clinical, teaching, research and administrative experience.

- Super-speciality or Research Qualification: D.M., M.Ch., Ph.D., FNB, DNB Super-speciality or equivalent postdoctoral qualification in an existing speciality or super-speciality of the institute is desirable.
- Administrative Experience: At least 5 years of experience as Head of Department or Head of Institute in medical research, medical education, medical facility or public health organisation is desirable.
- Research Profile: Credible publications in national and international indexed journals are desirable.
- Recognition: Awards or recognition from national or international bodies in the medical field will strengthen the application.
For Deputation or Short-Term Contract
- Eligible Organisations: Officers from Central Government, State Government, Union Territories, autonomous or statutory organisations, PSUs, universities or recognised research institutions can be considered.
- Service Requirement: You should be holding an analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department.
- Qualification Requirement: You must still meet the same essential qualification and experience prescribed for direct recruitment.
Age Limit
- Maximum age for direct recruitment: 62 years.
- Age Reference Date: The effective date for age, qualification and experience is 30 June 2026, the last date for receipt of application.
- Tenure Limit: The Director will serve for 5 years or until reaching 65 years, whichever is earlier.

Selection Process (No Written Exam Mentioned)

Responsibilities
- Lead the overall clinical, academic and administrative work of Delhi State Cancer Institute
- Guide cancer care services, teaching activity and research priorities at the institute
- Manage senior medical teams, departments and institutional committees
- Keep patient care, safety and quality systems aligned with government health standards
- Prepare policy, planning and performance reports for the Health and Family Welfare Department
- Monitor faculty development, publications and academic output of the institute
- Represent the institute before government, academic, hospital and public health bodies
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
MBBS with recognised postgraduate qualification such as MD/MS/MDS/DM/DNB in a relevant field or equivalent; postgraduate degree in Oncology where applicable.
Preferred Qualification
Postdoctoral qualification such as DM/M.Ch./Ph.D./FNB/DNB Super-speciality, 5 years administrative experience as HoD/Institute head, indexed publications and awards or recognition.
