Central Sanskrit University (CSU), established by an Act of Parliament, has released Advertisement No. 04/2026 for direct recruitment to teaching and other academic posts. These vacancies are for three campus-specific locations: Vedvyas Campus in Himachal Pradesh, Shri Raghunath Kirti Campus in Uttarakhand and Ekalavya Campus in Tripura. Associate Professor posts have no written exam; selection will be through shortlisting, assessment and interview, while other posts may have written tests for shortlisting.

• Associate Professor: 23 posts in Sahitya, Vyakarana, Jyotisha, Veda Bhashyam, Veda Pourohitya and Karmakanda, Dharma Shastra/Mimamsa, Bauddha Darshan, Vedanta, Nyaya/Vaisheshika, Shiksha Shastra, Computer Science, Yogic Sciences and Ayurveda.
• Assistant Professor: 63 posts across Sahitya, Hindi, English, Vyakarana, Jyotisha, Veda, Shastric Knowledge System, Darshana, Shiksha Shastra, Computer Science and Yogic Sciences.
• Assistant Director (Physical Education and Sports): 2 posts.
• Assistant Librarian: 2 posts.

• SC: 14 posts
• ST: 7 posts
• OBC: 24 posts
• EWS: 9 posts
• PwBD: 7 cross-category posts are earmarked for benchmark disability categories.

Who Can Apply?

For Teaching Posts

• Qualification: You must meet the relevant UGC, NCTE, NCISM and CSU norms for the subject and post you choose.
• Academic record: Required NET/Ph.D., teaching experience, research work, publications, seminars and workshops must be complete on or before 10 July 2026, wherever applicable.
• Subject match: You should apply only for the subject or discipline for which you meet the prescribed eligibility.

For Assistant Director and Assistant Librarian

• Qualification: You must follow the applicable UGC/CSU academic norms for Physical Education and Sports or Library Science posts.
• Assessment: CSU may use written test, presentation, writing skill, domain knowledge assessment, document verification and interview as applicable.

Other Conditions

• Nationality: You must be an Indian national.
• Campus posting: These posts are campus-specific. Selected candidates normally need to serve at the initial campus for 10 years or as prescribed by CSU.
• In-service applicants: If you work in Central/State Government, PSU or an autonomous body, you need a No Objection Certificate and, where required, vigilance clearance.

Age Limit

• Age rule: The notification says age limit and relaxations will follow UGC regulations and Government of India norms.
• Eligibility date: Your age, qualification, experience and other eligibility conditions will be checked as on 10 July 2026.
• Reserved categories: SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwBD benefits will apply only when you upload and submit valid certificates in the required format.

Salary

• Associate Professor: Academic Level 13A, approximately Rs. 1,31,400 to Rs. 2,17,100 per month.
• Assistant Professor, Assistant Director and Assistant Librarian: Academic Level 10, approximately Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 per month.
• Allowances: DA, HRA, TA and other benefits will be paid as per Central Government/CSU rules.

Application Fee

• Level 10 posts - UR/OBC/EWS: Rs. 1,500 total fee.
• Level 10 posts - SC/ST/Women/PwBD/Transgender: Rs. 500 processing charge only.
• Level 13A posts - UR/OBC/EWS: Rs. 2,000 total fee.
• Level 13A posts - SC/ST/Women/PwBD/Transgender: Rs. 1,000 processing charge only.
• Payment mode: Online only through the CU Chayan application portal. The fee is not refundable.

Selection Process

CSU will announce the detailed selection procedure and schedule on sanskrit.nic.in. Based on the notification, selection can include these stages:

1. Application Scrutiny: CSU will check eligibility, documents, subject fit and category claims.
2. Written Test where prescribed: The test may include OMR-based MCQs and a descriptive test for Research Aptitude and Writing Skills. It is for shortlisting only.
3. No Written Exam for Associate Professor: Associate Professor posts will move through shortlisting, assessment and interview without a written examination.
4. Assessment: Shortlisted candidates may face video presentation, research skill and PPT presentation checks as applicable.
5. Document Verification and Interview: Original documents will be checked before the final interview or appointment stage.

2. Register and complete your profile on the portal.
3. Open the CSU vacancy, choose the post and subject, and fill in the online application form.
4. Upload clear scanned copies of required documents, articles, publications and certificates.
5. Pay the application or processing fee online as per your category and post level.
6. Submit the form and take a printout of the submitted application.
7. Send the signed hard copy with self-attested documents and fee proof to The Registrar, Central Sanskrit University, 56-57, Institutional Area, Janakpuri, New Delhi-110058. It must reach CSU within 15 days after 10 July 2026.
