NLU Meghalaya Assistant Librarian Recruitment 2026

NLU Meghalaya Assistant Librarian Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Law University of Meghalaya (NLU Meghalaya) is recruiting an Assistant Librarian for a permanent appointment in Shillong. The notice is specifically for the university’s library appointment and carries a Meghalaya residence restriction. If you are considering this role, that restriction applies even though the advertised position is unreserved.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Residence: You must be an indigenous inhabitant or permanent resident of Meghalaya. The notice places this condition on applicants for the Assistant Librarian appointment.
• Reservation policy: The university follows Meghalaya’s state reservation policy and its later amendments for permanent appointments. Read any subsequent university notice alongside the original advertisement.
• Current employment: If you already work elsewhere, apply through the proper channel. The university also allows an advance copy, with an alternative employer-clearance arrangement for shortlisted applicants.
• Pay protection: This benefit is limited to applicants serving in government institutions whose applications come through the proper channel. It does not automatically extend to everyone currently employed.
• Travel costs: You must cover your own travel and daily expenses for the interview or any other recruitment activity. The university will not reimburse these costs.
• Shortlisting: Meeting the stated requirements does not guarantee a call. The university will contact shortlisted applicants through the email address entered in their application.
• Recruitment changes: The university can change, withdraw or cancel the advertisement in whole or in part at any point. Its decision on these matters is final.
• Records: Records of applicants who are not selected will not be kept beyond 6 months after publication of the selection list.
• Conduct and updates: Canvassing is prohibited. Check the university website for any later amendment or addition affecting your application.
