MPHC Stenographer and Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

High Court of Madhya Pradesh (MPHC) is recruiting Stenographers and Assistants for district and sessions court establishments across the state. This is a regular direct recruitment drive under the Madhya Pradesh District Court Establishment recruitment and service rules. Your choice of post in the form matters: the court will consider you for the posts you select, even if your result could otherwise support a higher post.

Posts and Disciplines

• Stenographer Grade-II: A Hindi stenography post in the district court establishment, listed separately from Grade-III.
• Stenographer Grade-III: The other Hindi stenography cadre covered by this common recruitment notice.
• Stenographer Grade-III (Court Manager Staff): A separate staff category attached to the court manager establishment. The current openings are unreserved.
• Assistant Grade-III (English Knowing): The English-language post in this notice. Its current openings are also unreserved.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Post preference: Choose your preferred posts carefully. Once recorded, the choice cannot be changed, and the court will not automatically move you to a higher post you did not select.
• State reservation: Reservation benefits apply to Madhya Pradesh domiciles. If you belong to another state, you must apply under the unreserved category. Applicants with disabilities from other states use the UR (PH) category specified in the notice.
• Unreserved posts: For Court Manager Staff and English Knowing Assistant posts, applicants from SC, ST, OBC and EWS categories will be considered against the unreserved openings in this drive.
• Horizontal reservation: The notice provides compartment-wise reservation for women, former service personnel and persons with disabilities. It also provides a separate horizontal provision for qualifying contract staff of the High Court and district courts.
• Pending reservation litigation: The OBC reservation dispute affects the way results are declared. The notice separates the main result from a provisional portion, and the final list remains subject to the court's decision.
• Provisional candidature: Receiving an admit card does not settle your claim to a post. Incorrect or concealed information can lead to cancellation at any point in the recruitment.
• Service bond: You must sign a bond for Rs. 2,00,000 and commit to at least three years of service. Leaving earlier or breaking a bond condition can make this amount payable. The notice provides an exception if you leave with prior permission to join the Madhya Pradesh or Central Government.
• District allocation: Counselling considers category-wise merit and available positions. You cannot claim a particular district, and requests to change districts after counselling, including mutual exchanges, will not be accepted.
• Travel costs: No travel allowance is paid for attending either test.
• Changes to the drive: The court may change the advertised positions or amend or cancel the recruitment. You are expected to follow updates published on its website.

Application Submission Notes

Applicants called for the skill test have a later paper-submission requirement. Send the prescribed form to Principal Registrar (Examination), Administrative Building, High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur, for receipt in the court's Receipt Section; personal delivery, speed post or another suitable delivery method is permitted.

Mark the post name and your category on that submission. The court will announce the relevant receipt deadline separately, and postal delay will not excuse a late arrival.
