CMFRI KVK Lakshadweep Young Professional-I Recruitment 2026: Overview

Krishi Vigyan Kendra-Lakshadweep (KVK-Lakshadweep), run by the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), is hiring a Young Professional-I (YP-I) for its work under the National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) project. The job is based at the farm science centre in Kavaratti, the capital of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. This is a purely temporary, project-based engagement — it runs for one year or until the project ends, whichever comes first, and depends on funds and on your work being rated satisfactory.

As the name says, the NICRA project is about climate-resilient farming. If you studied agricultural sciences or another biological science and have hands-on experience with vegetable and fruit growing, soil and water conservation, mulching, green manuring or water management, the KVK will give you preference. Freshers with the right degree can still apply.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• No claim to a regular job: The post is contractual, non-regular, time-bound and ends with the project. Selection does not give you any right to a permanent post at CMFRI.
• Relatives at ICAR or CMFRI: If any near or distant relative works at ICAR or CMFRI, you must declare it in Annexure-II and send it before the interview day. A declaration made only on the interview day means you will not be interviewed.
• Annexures for everyone: All candidates must bring Annexure-I and Annexure-II, filled in and signed, to the interview — including those with no relatives at ICAR.
• CGPA or OGPA marks: If your marks are in CGPA or OGPA, bring the approved conversion table or formula, otherwise your candidature will not be considered.
• Working candidates: Bring a No Objection Certificate from your current employer.
• Number of posts: The KVK says the number of vacancies may change on the interview day depending on project needs.
• Travel costs: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview, whether you come to Kavaratti or join online.
• Final say: The Director of ICAR-CMFRI takes the final decision on all matters, and canvassing in any form leads to disqualification.
