Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan), AYJNISHD, is recruiting contractual staff across its headquarters, regional centres and rehabilitation units. The institute works under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. This recruitment brings together teaching, clinical, rehabilitation, administrative and support roles across several named centres, so your choice of post also determines the relevant work location.

Posts and Disciplines

• Assistant Professors: PMR posts are listed for Nagpur and Chhatarpur, Audiology for Ahmedabad, and Clinical Psychology for Chhatarpur.
• Lecturers: Education is based at Janla; Audio/Speech Pathology at Kolkata; Occupational Therapy at Nagpur and Chhatarpur; and Physiotherapy at Goa.
• Clinical Assistant and Audiology: Clinical Assistant roles are at Chhatarpur and Noida, while the Grade I Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologist role is at Secunderabad.
• Vocational Instructor and Assistant: The instructor row names Nagpur and Chhatarpur; the administrative Assistant is assigned to Goa.
• Communication and technical support: Sign Language Interpreter roles are at Mumbai and Noida. Ear Mould Technician roles are at Mumbai and Secunderabad, while the Plumber-cum-Pump Operator and PA to Director are at Mumbai.
• Teaching and administration: Teacher (Education) roles are at Mumbai and Janla. The Administrative and Accounts Officer works at Mumbai.

• Early intervention education and support: Those same units have Special Educator, Trained Caregiver, Ayah/Cleaner, Activity Teacher, Social Worker and Data Entry Operator roles.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Full-time engagement: You cannot take another commercial assignment while engaged under this contract.
• Contract term: The ordinary initial term cannot exceed three years. Extension up to five years needs the applicable approval; the notice does not permit engagement beyond five years.
• Renewal: Renewal depends on annual performance review. Group A and Group B/C appointments follow the separate review and approval arrangements described in the notice.
• Ending the contract: The institute can end the engagement with 30 days’ notice. If you resign, you must give 30 days’ advance notice or pay in place of that notice.
• Leave and conduct: Paid leave follows the relevant scheme and institute rules. Attempts to influence the recruitment process can lead to disqualification.
• Travel costs: The institute will not pay travel or daily allowances. Plan for your own costs if called to attend.
