Sikkim HC e-Courts IT Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

The High Court of Sikkim, Gangtok is hiring an in-house IT team for the e-Courts Project Phase-III, the national programme that digitises court records, case filing and hearings. The four roles range from an entry-level IT Assistant to a Senior Technical Officer who runs the court's servers and network.

This is a purely contractual engagement for one year at a fixed monthly pay, not a regular court post. It suits computer science, electronics and IT graduates who want hands-on work on a live judicial system — fresh graduates can try for the IT Assistant post, while the developer and officer roles need prior experience.

Posts and Disciplines

• Senior Technical Officer: the infrastructure lead, for engineers and MCA/M.Sc holders with a background in IT infrastructure, networks, databases, server administration, LAN and hardware troubleshooting.
• Senior Developer: for experienced programmers who have handled application design, deployment, testing and maintenance.
• Developer: for programmers with a shorter software development track record.
• IT Assistant: the entry post, open to BE/B.Tech, BCA or B.Sc graduates in IT or Computer Science; the notice asks for no experience.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement is purely contractual for a period of one year under the e-Courts Project Phase-III.
• Citizenship proof: You must be an Indian citizen and attach one of: birth certificate, passport, Certificate of Identification (Sikkim subjects only) or a valid voter ID card.
• Marriage rule: A person who married someone with a living spouse, or who remarried while having a living spouse, cannot be appointed as officer or staff of the High Court.
• Age reference: The lower age limit is checked on 1 January 2026 and the upper limit on the last day of submission; the same limit applies to all communities of the state, with relaxation as prescribed by the State Government.
• Serving employees: Those already in government service must apply through proper channel.
• No call letters for interview are sent separately, and no TA/DA is paid for the interview.

Fill the application form attached to the employment notice (handwritten, in English) and paste a passport-size photograph on both the form and the admit card slip that comes with it. Send it by speed post to the Office of the Central Project Coordinator, High Court of Sikkim, Gangtok, or hand it in at that office during office hours, before 4:30 PM on the closing day.
