NHM Purba Bardhaman ANM and Staff Nurse Recruitment 2026: Overview

The District Health & Family Welfare Samity (DH&FWS) and the office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH), Purba Bardhaman have released six contractual recruitment notices together in one document. They cover urban health centres under the Fifteenth Finance Commission (XV-FC) and the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM), rural hospitals under the National Programme for Health Care of the Elderly (NPHCE), and the TB programme under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP). Every one of these notices replaces an earlier December 2025 recruitment that has been cancelled, so nurses, ANMs, physiotherapists, pharmacists and science graduates from West Bengal get a fresh chance to apply.

Posts and Disciplines

• ANM (Community Health Assistant-Urban), XV-FC: for women with an ANM or GNM course, posted at Urban Health Wellness Centres (U-HWC) of the municipalities of Purba Bardhaman.
• ANM (Community Health Assistant-Urban), NUHM: the same role at the U-HWCs of Kalna, Katwa and Burdwan municipalities. Both ANM posts need you to be a permanent resident of Purba Bardhaman district.
• Staff Nurse, XV-FC: for GNM or B.Sc. Nursing holders registered with the West Bengal Nursing Council, at U-HWCs and polyclinics of the district's municipalities.
• Staff Nurse, NUHM: the same qualification, posted at Urban Primary Health Centres (U-PHC) of Kalna, Katwa and Burdwan.
• Multi Rehabilitation Worker, NPHCE: for physiotherapy graduates with hospital experience, posted at rural hospitals and Block Primary Health Centres; a master's in physiotherapy is desirable.
• Block Data Manager, XV-FC: for graduates with a computer application diploma and data recording and analysis experience, posted at Block Public Health Units (BPHU).
• Pharmacist, NUHM: a single post at the Kalna U-PHC for D.Pharm (Allopathic) holders registered as an "A" category pharmacist with the West Bengal Pharmacy Council.
• Senior Treatment Supervisor (STS), NTEP: for science graduates who know MS Word and Excel and hold a permanent two-wheeler licence; an MSW is preferred.
• Senior Tuberculosis Laboratory Supervisor (STLS), NTEP: for graduates with a DMLT or BMLT, a two-wheeler licence and computer skills.
• Tuberculosis Health Visitor (TBHV), NTEP: a single EWS (EC) post for science graduates with field experience as an MPW, LHV, ANM or health worker and a short computer course.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Domicile: you must be a permanent resident of West Bengal; for the ANM posts, of Purba Bardhaman district itself, with proof attested by a Gazetted or Group A officer.
• Bengali: you must be able to read, write and speak Bengali.
• ANM posts are for women: the application format for both ANM (CHA-Urban) posts is marked Female only.
• Contract term: all posts are purely contractual up to March 2027, renewable on satisfactory performance and approval.
• Experience certificates: experience counts only after you earn the essential qualification, and the certificate must show the post, employer, your name and joining and leaving dates. An appointment letter alone is not accepted.
• Computer test cut-off: the Block Data Manager and NUHM Pharmacist computer tests carry a 50% qualifying mark.
• Skipping a stage: if you miss any stage of the process, you are disqualified without further notice.

Application Submission Notes

Two different routes apply. For the Staff Nurse, Multi Rehabilitation Worker, Block Data Manager, Pharmacist and TB posts, apply online through the online recruitment section of wbhealth.gov.in, then download your form from Application Print on the HR portal and keep it for document verification. Do not post it.

For the two ANM (CHA-Urban) posts, fill the attached Annexure-C application format and send it with self-attested documents and the NEFT deposit copy by speed post, registered post, courier or by hand to the Office of the CMOH, DH&FWS, 1st Floor, Khosbagan, Shyamsayer East, Near Harisabha Hindu Girls School, Purba Bardhaman 713101, before 5 pm on the closing day.

If the online form shows "Duplicate Registration!" because you applied earlier, type your first name twice in the first-name field; for the XV-FC Staff Nurse form, type your last name twice instead.

Corrigenda and Notices

• Cancelled December 2025 notices: the earlier processes under notice nos. 1019 and 1021 (5 December 2025, XV-FC), 1028 and 1029 (8 December 2025, NUHM), 1036 (9 December 2025, Multi Rehabilitation Worker) and 1082 (22 December 2025, TBHV and STS) have all been cancelled by the Mission Director's order dated 29 September 2026.
• Verification list: the provisional list for original document checking will be published on purbabardhaman.nic.in and wbhealth.gov.in.
