Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University (KBCNMU), Jalgaon wants to bring working professionals into its classrooms as Professor of Practice under Advertisement No. 06/2026. The idea is simple: people who have built a career in industry, public service, the media or community work teach and mentor students alongside the regular faculty. You do not need a PhD or publications for this role — your track record in your own field is what counts.

This is a fixed-term, honorarium-based engagement, not a regular faculty job. You are paid for the hours you teach, and the university covers your travel and stay when you come to the campus.

Your work should fit the teaching needs of one of the schools above.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Not for teachers: The post is not open to anyone in the teaching profession, whether serving or retired.
• Fixed term: The first engagement lasts one year. The university reviews your work before each extension.
• Maximum tenure: Normally three years, extendable by one more year in exceptional cases. The total can never cross four years.
• Travel: You can claim actual train fares in AC II tier, AC III tier, AC Chair Car or First Class, or actual bus fares. Travel by your own car or a hired vehicle is paid as per university rules.
• Stay: The university gives you guest house accommodation and local hospitality during your visits.
• No automatic call: Meeting the eligibility does not guarantee an interview or interaction; the university's decision is final.
• Updates: Any addendum or corrigendum will appear only on www.nmu.ac.in, so keep checking the site.

You also need to post a hard copy to The Registrar, Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon 425001 (Maharashtra). It must reach the office during working hours within 12 days of the advertisement appearing on the UGC Professor of Practice portal and in local newspapers. Paste and sign a recent passport-size photograph on the form.
