IIT Kharagpur Senior Project Associate Mathematics 2026

IIT Kharagpur Senior Project Associate Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) has a Senior Project Associate opening in its Department of Mathematics at Kharagpur, West Bengal, for a time-bound research project. The project, led by Ratna Dutta, focuses on developing advanced post-quantum cryptographic primitives for secure and efficient edge computing.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology sponsors this work, which the institute identifies with project code R/DQC. If you are considering this role, the key context is its link to a specific cryptography project: the appointment belongs to that research assignment and has a defined initial term.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial appointment: Your appointment starts with a one-year term counted from your joining date. The notice describes the assignment as temporary and tied to the research project.
• Extension: Continued service depends on performance. The maximum period is up to four years or until the project ends, whichever comes first.
• Project limit: The extension provision does not promise an automatic four-year appointment. Read it together with the performance condition and the project's end point when considering the position.

Application Submission Notes

The official detail page provides an Apply Online link for reference IIT/SRIC/R/DQC/2026/101. Use that notice-specific route so your application is associated with the correct assignment.

The PDF also refers to an application on plain paper, while the linked detail page directs you to the online portal. The supplied notice does not give a separate postal destination for that wording; check the instructions shown by the institute's application portal before deciding whether any additional paper submission is needed.
