IISER Bhopal IPDF Near IR Emission Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal) is recruiting an Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow (IPDF) in its Department of Chemistry. This fixed-term fellowship in Bhopal focuses on large pi-conjugated molecules for intense near-infrared emission, giving the appointment a specific chemical research direction.
The notice places this fellowship within Chemistry and identifies the near-infrared emission project as its research focus. You should use that project description when identifying the relevant notice and preparing your research proposal for the department.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial appointment: You join for one year. The institute may extend the fellowship for another year after assessing your annual performance. The additional year depends on that review.
- PhD certificate after joining: If your thesis has been submitted but the degree is pending, the provisional or final certificate must reach the institute within six months of appointment. Otherwise, the appointment may be cancelled or decided in consultation with the authority processing your thesis.
- Leave and outpatient facilities: Your leave and outpatient medical care follow the provisions applicable to postgraduate students in the institute’s PG Manual.
- Insurance: You must hold a medical insurance policy in your name, with at least Rs. 1 lakh cover, for the entire fellowship. Medical reimbursement is not available.
- Housing: The institute does not offer accommodation to IPDF appointees. Keep this condition in mind when considering a move to Bhopal.
- Application completeness: Incomplete applications will not be processed. The institute also rules out interim enquiries and correspondence about the recruitment.

Rs. 67,000 per month for PhD holders. Thesis-submitted candidates awaiting the degree receive Rs. 35,000 per month. After the certificate is submitted, the full fellowship applies from the date of award of the PhD degree or provisional degree.
