Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Medical College and Hospital, Surat is recruiting teaching faculty and Senior Residents for its medical college and hospital at Majura Gate. This is a rolling contractual recruitment supporting teaching and patient care across clinical and pre-clinical departments. Posts and Disciplines

• Professor: Anatomy, Biochemistry and Pediatrics.
• Associate Professor: Anatomy, Biochemistry, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics, Radiology and Surgery.
• Assistant Professor: Anatomy, Biochemistry, Dermatology, Eye, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics, Radiology and Surgery.
• Senior Resident: Anesthesiology, Dermatology, ENT, Eye, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics and Radiology.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial engagement: Both faculty and Senior Resident contracts begin for one year. Extensions can take the engagement up to three years, depending on performance, conduct, willingness and the hospital’s needs.
• Regular appointments: Your contract can end earlier when a regular appointee joins the same post. The notice also applies separate service-age ceilings to faculty and Senior Residents.
• Private practice: Teaching faculty cannot undertake private practice in any capacity after joining this hospital.
• Leaving the post: You must give one month’s advance notice or pay the equivalent of one month’s salary. Failure to follow the condition can result in loss of salary and the security deposit, with possible legal proceedings.
• Security deposit: A deposit is required when you join. It is refundable after successful completion of the contract and clearance of dues; leaving within six months normally leads to forfeiture, subject to the notice’s exception for unavoidable circumstances.
• Unapproved absence: Absence exceeding seven days without approval can be treated as abandonment of the engagement. Faculty must mark daily attendance manually and through the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System.
• Service benefits: The contract does not provide a claim to pension, provident fund, gratuity, seniority, promotion or the other service benefits listed in the notice.
• Accommodation: Hostel accommodation or quarters may be provided if available, but you cannot claim them as a right.
• Reservation: If a suitable reserved-category candidate is unavailable, a temporary engagement for 44 days may be made and extended for another 44 days. Disability reservation is adjusted within the relevant category and follows government guidelines.
• Changing requirements: The hospital can revise the advertised positions or cancel or postpone recruitment. No travel or daily allowance is paid for attending.
