CSMCRI Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI) is recruiting project staff in Bhavnagar for research on water treatment. The notice brings together Project Associate-I and Project Assistant-II positions under separate projects sponsored by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Posts and Disciplines

• Project Associate-I, membrane research: Project FTC090601 focuses on membrane design for desalination and purification. Its aim is mineral-balanced water with high water recovery.
• Project Assistant-II, membrane research: This position belongs to the same FTC090601 project. It is a separate appointment within the membrane-design research effort.
• Project Associate-I, electro-deionization: Project FTT060604 concerns a system for producing electrolyser-grade ultrapure water for hydrogen generation. This is the engineering-focused project in the notice.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: Your appointment ends with the project. It does not give you a claim to regular employment, continued engagement, an extension or absorption into CSMCRI.
• Combined service limit: Time spent as project staff across CSMCRI and other CSIR laboratories or institutes counts towards a combined limit of six years. Moving between CSIR projects does not remove this limit.
• Travel costs: The institute will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview. Keep this condition in mind if an in-person visit is requested.
• Institute decisions: The Director has the final say on application acceptance, recruitment arrangements and cancellation. The notice does not provide for individual correspondence challenging these decisions.
• Updates: Check the institute website for amendments and further announcements. Interview arrangements will be communicated to shortlisted applicants by email, so your email contact needs to remain accessible.
• Accuracy: Incorrect information or a mismatch in your records can lead to rejection. The institute can cancel candidature if an applicant does not meet the stated conditions, even when the problem is found later.
