AR Technical and Tradesman Recruitment 2026: Overview
Assam Rifles (AR) is recruiting for its Technical and Tradesman cadres through a common recruitment rally run by the Directorate General in Shillong. The drive brings together Warrant Officer, Havildar and Rifleman posts, including communications, engineering, medical and practical trades. These are Group C service posts, with the trade you choose determining which part of the recruitment applies to you.

You take a computer-based test with 100 questions for 100 marks.
- English Language: 25 questions, 25 marks.
- Reasoning Ability: 25 questions, 25 marks.
- Quantitative Aptitude: 25 questions, 25 marks.
- General Awareness: 25 questions, 25 marks.
You receive 1 mark for a correct answer, with no negative marking. Unanswered questions receive 0 marks.
The qualifying threshold is 35% for General/EWS and 33% for SC/ST/OBC. The trade skill test is qualifying and carries no marks.

You must be a male Indian citizen and meet your trade's qualification, age and physical requirements. Most technical trades need Class 10 plus the specified ITI or diploma; Warrant Officer streams have their own Class 12 and technical requirements.
Use the official Assam Rifles online application portal, select the recruitment, fill your details and upload the required files. Pay the applicable fee through the prescribed route and save your completed application.
You must clear the applicable physical tests, document checks, computer-based test, trade skill test and medical examination.
The fee is Rs. 100 for General/OBC/EWS. You are exempt if you belong to SC/ST or the ex-servicemen category.
