UIDAI Accountant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) — the body set up under the Aadhaar Act, 2016 to issue Aadhaar numbers and run authentication — needs an Accountant at its Regional Office in Chandigarh. The post is filled on deputation (foreign service terms), which means you move to UIDAI from your current government job for a fixed period and keep your lien in your parent office.

This opening is meant for serving officials only — private candidates cannot apply. It suits accounts staff in Central or State Government, Union Territories, PSUs or autonomous bodies who already hold an analogous post or have the required regular service in the feeder pay levels. A commerce degree, or any degree with three years of accounts work in a government office, is the academic base, and basic computer skills are a plus.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Deputation period: Five years; your parent office may release you for a shorter spell, but not less than three years.
• Residual service: You must have at least three years of service left before retirement in your current organisation.
• Government service: Central Government officers need at least five years of government service to apply.
• Eligibility cut-off: Even after the extension, eligibility is judged as on 29 June 2026, the original closing date.
• Pay protection: If your parent organisation has a different pay or DA pattern, only your pay is protected, not the perks, as per DoPT rules.
• Service rules: Pay, allowances, joining time, medical benefits and travel follow the UIDAI (Salary, Allowances and Other Terms) Regulations, 2020; leave follows the CCS (Leave) Rules, 1972.
• Medical cover: You can stay on CGHS if you use it now, or use UIDAI's medical reimbursement scheme.
• No withdrawal: Once you apply, you cannot withdraw your candidature. Officers holding an analogous post may be preferred.

Application Submission Notes

New applicants first fill the online form on the UIDAI Career Portal, then print and sign it and give the hard copy to their cadre controlling authority or parent organisation. That office forwards it through proper channel with the forwarding certificate, cadre clearance and attested ACR/APAR copies.

The complete forwarded application must reach Director (HR), UIDAI Regional Office, SCO 95-98, Ground and Second Floor, Sector 17-B, Chandigarh 160017. Applications sent directly, without proper channel, will not be considered.
