SGPGIMS Project Research Scientist I Recruitment 2026: Overview

Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow is hiring a Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) for a research project at the Stem Cell Research Center, Department of Hematology. The project is an Extramural Research project funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), led by Dr. Chandra Prakash Chaturvedi, Additional Professor. This is a project-linked contract post, not a regular institute position.

The study is titled "Multi-Omics Investigation of Amniotic Fluid Mesenchymal Stromal Cells: Linking Isolated Congenital Heart Defects Pathogenesis to Cellular and Molecular Dysregulation". In simple words, the team uses multi-omics tools on stem cells taken from amniotic fluid to understand what goes wrong at the cell and molecular level when a baby develops a heart defect on its own. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The first appointment is for one year and can be extended for the duration of the project if your performance is satisfactory.
• Temporary post: The post is entirely temporary and can be terminated with one month's notice.
• Shortlisting: If many people apply, the PI shortlists on the expertise and experience listed under desirable qualifications. Only shortlisted candidates are contacted for the interview.
• No travel allowance: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Director's discretion: The Director can cancel the advertisement or the selection without giving a reason.
