Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri, is building its project team at the Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Incubation Center (AI3C) in the Department of Agricultural Engineering. The contractual work connects agricultural research with technology development and startup support. Post-wise Duties

AI/ML and Data Science Lead

You will develop models for yield prediction, pest and disease detection, climate risk and soil health. The role also includes mentoring startups, building agricultural data pipelines and reviewing technical proposals.

Geospatial and Remote Sensing Specialist

You will develop crop maps and spatial dashboards and work on crop stress, drought and moisture analysis. Your work supports startups, university research, crop insurance assessments and yield estimates.

Robotics and IoT/Edge Computing Specialist

You will design and test sensor systems and edge devices, help run farm pilots and connect sensor data with AI systems. You will also guide hardware startups and support irrigation, automation and precision farming trials.

Industry and Startup Liaison

You will help bring startups into incubation activities and coordinate mentoring, demonstrations, agreements and field pilots. The role also connects research with industry, funding opportunities and technology transfer.

Junior Technical Fellow/Project Associates

You will support data collection, processing and documentation, alongside AI, GIS and IoT activities. You will also help researchers and startups with trials, reports, training and knowledge records.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The advertised engagement is up to 31 March 2029, but the appointment remains temporary and contractual and may end earlier.
• Project closure: Your assignment ends if the project closes or the position is abolished. Continuation or re-advertisement, if the project continues, rests with the Nodal Officer.
• Employment status: You will not have regular employee status, regular leave entitlement or a claim to permanent service at MPKV.
• Contract bond: A contract bond of Rs. 100 must be executed before joining. You must follow its conditions.
• Joining and resignation: Join within 10 days of the appointment order. Leaving early requires one month's notice; a shortfall can require payment for the missing notice period.
• Termination: The Nodal Officer can discontinue the engagement without notice for unsatisfactory work or another valid ground under the notice's terms.
• Travel: MPKV will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview.
• Conduct and appointments: Canvassing can disqualify you. The centre may decide not to issue appointment orders even after completing recruitment.
