MPA Chief Engineer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Mormugao Port Authority (MPA), under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, is preparing to fill its Chief Engineer position in Goa. The Head of Department post is expected to become vacant when the present officer returns to the parent organisation. This circular uses absorption through the composite method for serving officers of Major Port Authorities.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Recruitment route: The attached rules describe other methods that may be used if absorption fails. For this circular, you should read the conditions for absorption alongside the invitation addressed to Major Port Authorities.
• Withdrawal after selection: If you withdraw after the Services Selection Committee selects you, you can be barred from future Head of Department selections across all Major Port Authorities for two years. Consider this commitment before your port forwards your candidature.
• Ministry instructions: The appointment remains subject to the Ministry’s applicable guidelines and any subsequent changes it directs.
• Proper-channel requirement: An advance copy alone does not complete your candidature. Your administrative port must forward the application through the prescribed channel within the separate forwarding window.
• Pending administrative clearances: The Ministry allows the competent authority to forward an application while administrative clearances are being completed. The remaining material must still reach the receiving port without delay for consideration by the committee.

Application Submission Notes

The Online Application Portal (OAP) submission must be followed by a printout sent through your administrative port to Mormugao Port Authority, General Administration Department, Administrative Office Building, Headland Sada, Goa 403804. Mark the envelope “Application for the post of Chief Engineer (HOD) in Mormugao Port Authority”.

If dispatch is too late for timely postal delivery, the notice permits your port to send its proper-channel forwarding and OAP printout by email, followed by the complete application through registered post. This provision concerns forwarding by the port; your own advance copy does not replace that forwarding.
