Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai) is hiring a Project Manager (Post Doctoral Researcher) and Project Assistant for an SRTMI-funded research project in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Posts and Disciplines

• Project Manager (Post Doctoral Researcher): This role connects the overall research plan with plant operations. It brings project coordination, manufacturing-process understanding and technical oversight into the same assignment.
• Project Assistant: This role supports the project's data workflow. It focuses on preparing sensor and laboratory information so the team can use it for analysis, modelling and reporting.

Post-wise Duties

Project Manager

You will coordinate with plant managers, production staff and quality-control teams to understand the manufacturing process and the project's needs. Your work includes planning activities from data collection through model validation, keeping track of milestones and resources, and helping resolve problems raised in project reviews.

You will also connect correlation analysis, feature selection and predictive modelling with the project's wider goals. Presenting findings and recommendations to management is part of the role, along with keeping a clear record of data sources, methods, models and results.

Project Assistant

You will help collect and organise sensor and mechanical-testing data from different production stages. The assignment includes cleaning and preparing this information, supporting analysis of key parameters, and helping the team develop and test machine-learning models.

Your reporting work will turn those activities into data summaries, presentations and project records. You will coordinate with the Project Manager and the plant or quality teams so the information they need stays organised and usable.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project term: The engagement lasts for one year. Your appointment follows the rules of IIT Bhilai and the funding agency that apply to this project.
• Joining: You must be ready to take up the assignment immediately after receiving an offer. Keep this requirement in mind if you currently have another commitment.
• Performance: The fellowship can end before the agreed tenure with 30 days of notice if your performance is unsatisfactory. The stated duration does not remove this condition.
• Travel: You must meet your own travel and daily expenses for attending the interview. The institute will not reimburse these costs.
• Committee decision: The selection committee has the final say on the appointment. The institute and funding agency terms continue to govern the engagement after an offer is issued.
