ARI Project Administrative Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

MACS-Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) is hiring a Project Administrative Assistant team on short-term contracts in Pune. The institute is an autonomous organisation under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, with research across biological-science themes. This engagement supports its administrative work and does not provide a right to appointment against an institute or funding-agency post.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Research setting: ARI works in Biodiversity and Palaeobiology, Bioenergy, Bioprospecting, Developmental Biology, Genetics and Plant Breeding, and Nanobioscience. The advertised role provides administrative support in this research setting.
• Contract period: The initial engagement is for one year. ARI may extend or shorten the tenure following a review, so continued engagement depends on the institute decision.
• No regular-post claim: This is a contractual engagement. It does not create an automatic claim to another ARI position or a post with a funding agency.
• Ending the contract: ARI may end the engagement with one month notice without giving a reason. If you resign, you must give one month written notice; the Director may waive the notice period at their discretion.
• Relieving formalities: You must complete the no-dues and other release formalities before leaving. These requirements apply alongside the notice-period condition.
• Recruitment discretion: ARI may change the number of positions or cancel the recruitment. Meeting the minimum requirements does not automatically mean you will be called for interview.
• Travel and stay: ARI will not pay travel allowance, daily allowance or other financial assistance for attending. You need to arrange and pay for your own visit.
• Desirable criteria: The competent authority may relax desirable qualifications for exceptionally qualified applicants. This is an institute discretion rather than an exemption you can assume in advance.

• Assist with budgets and track expenditure.
• Prepare utilisation certificates and support funding records.
• Process bills and help prepare final accounts.
• Support TDS and GST accounting work.
• Translate material into Hindi and handle typing work.
• Use office equipment and update software knowledge for administration, accounts, purchasing and stores.
