All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati (AIIMS Guwahati) is recruiting Assistant Professors in Anatomy and Paediatrics on contract. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial term: The engagement normally lasts one year or until a regular appointee joins, whichever comes first. The authority may set a shorter initial period or consider an extension under the applicable rules.
• Contract status: This appointment does not give you a right to permanent absorption. You will work full time for the institute and report to the department head, Dean or Executive Director.
• Work locations: The institute may also assign you to its attached rural or urban health centres, or other associated centres, for a period it decides.
• Outside work: Private practice, including laboratory or consultancy practice, is prohibited. You cannot take another paid assignment during the contract, and seeking other employment needs the institute's written consent.
• Ending the contract: Either side may end the engagement with one month's notice. A shorter notice period may involve payment for the balance under the terms set out in the notification.
• Conduct: You must follow the institute's conduct and discipline rules. Serious misconduct, unauthorised absence or breach of contract may result in termination without notice.
• Confidentiality: Information and records you handle through the role must remain confidential, including after the contract ends. You must return institutional records when your engagement finishes.
• Conflicts of interest: Declare commercial interests before joining and avoid outside interests that conflict with your institutional duties. The notice also restricts gifts connected with official dealings.
• Leave and professional events: Leave follows institute policy. Participation in national seminars and conferences is permitted according to the entitlement stated for regular faculty.
• Interview travel: You must meet your own expenses for attending the interview. The institute may hold it at AIIMS Guwahati or another location chosen by the Executive Director.
