UIDAI Section Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the statutory body set up under the Aadhaar Act, 2016 to issue Aadhaar numbers and run their authentication, is filling a Section Officer post at its Technology Centre in Bengaluru. The post is offered on deputation on Foreign Service terms, so it is open only to officers who already hold a regular post in government, a public sector undertaking or an autonomous body.

The vacancy circular first came out in July 2026, and UIDAI has since extended the application window. If you have worked in administration, establishment, HR, finance, vigilance, procurement or e-governance and want a few years at the Aadhaar authority's Bengaluru technology campus, this opening is worth a look. Officers who already hold an analogous post in their parent organisation may get preference.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Deputation only: Private candidates are not eligible. Only officers with at least five years of government service may apply.
• Tenure: The deputation lasts five years. Your lending organisation may relieve you for a shorter spell under its own rules, but not for less than three years.
• Service rules: Pay, allowances, joining time, medical benefits and travel allowance follow the UIDAI (Appointment of Officers and Employees) Regulations, 2020 and the UIDAI salary and service regulations of 2020. Leave follows the CCS (Leave) Rules, 1972, and the other deputation terms follow DoPT OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay II) dated 17.6.2010.
• Pay protection: If your organisation's pay structure or DA pattern differs from UIDAI's, only your pay is protected — not the perks.
• Medical cover: If you use CGHS in your parent office, you can stay on it, and you can also use UIDAI's own Medical Reimbursement Scheme.
• Staff of PSUs, banks and LIC: The circular includes a grade-equivalence table so you can check whether your grade matches the Central Government levels; if your pay scale has been revised since, the revised equivalent applies automatically.
• No withdrawal: Once you apply, you cannot withdraw your candidature later.
• Vacancy count: UIDAI says it may change the number of posts at any time at its discretion, and it may withdraw the circular without giving reasons.

Fill the form online on the UIDAI Career Portal, then download, print and sign the submitted application and give it to your cadre controlling authority or parent organisation. They forward it through proper channel, with the Annex II certificate, your cadre clearance and attested APAR copies, to Director (HR), Unique Identification Authority of India, Aadhaar Complex, NTI Layout, Tata Nagar, Kodigehalli, Technology Centre, Bengaluru – 560 092.

Your office should forward the application only if it can spare you when you are selected — UIDAI considers only complete applications that reach it through proper channel within the extended date.

Corrigenda and Notices

• Extension circular, September 2026: UIDAI extended the closing date of vacancy circular ID 19898 dated 07.07.2026. Eligibility, including age, is still judged on the original closing date of 07.09.2026, and anyone who already applied under the earlier circular does not need to apply again.
