RIMS Accountant and Junior Auditor Recruitment 2026: Overview

Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal — an autonomous institute under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare — is hiring an Accountant and a Junior Auditor on contract for RIMS Hospital. Both posts sit under the Chief Minister Gi Hakshel Tengbang (CMHT) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) scheme run at the hospital.

These are finance jobs inside a hospital, not clinical ones. If you have a commerce degree and have already handled accounts or audit work in a government office, your experience counts directly here. The contract starts at six months and can be stretched depending on need and your performance.

Posts and Disciplines

• Accountant: runs the money side of the CMHT/PMJAY scheme at RIMS — keeping the scheme's accounts, checking statements of expenditure and bills, and preparing utilisation certificates. You need two years of accounts experience in a government organisation.
• Junior Auditor: covers much the same financial work, but the experience asked for is audit work in a government organisation for at least two years. A postgraduate commerce degree is a plus for both posts.

Post-wise Duties

Accountant

You will manage the financial activities of the CMHT/PMJAY scheme run by RIMS, keep its accounts, and scrutinise SOEs, bills and vouchers as the scheme guidelines require. You will also make sure staff salaries go out on time and that empanelled pharmacies are paid for the medicines they supply to scheme beneficiaries.

Junior Auditor

You will check the scheme's accounts, scrutinise Statements of Expenditure, bills and vouchers against CMHT/PMJAY guidelines, and prepare utilisation certificates and other documents whenever they are needed. Timely settlement of pharmacy bills and staff salaries is part of your watch too.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The job lasts for the period given against the post or until the scheme ends, whichever comes first.
• No regular appointment: Working here, or getting an extension, gives you no claim to a regular job at RIMS.
• Contract agreement: You are engaged only after a contract agreement is signed on the Selection Committee's recommendation.
