GU Director Recruitment 2026: Overview

Gujarat University (GU), Ahmedabad is looking for a Director to head its Centre for Professional Courses (CPC) on the main campus at Navrangpura. The centre runs professional programmes in areas such as business administration, computer applications and IT, so the post is aimed at a senior academic from management or computing who can lead an institute.

This is a 10-month contractual appointment on a consolidated monthly salary pegged to the Principal's initial scale under the UGC 7th Pay structure. The role mixes administration, teaching and research, so you will be running the centre while still working with students.

This is a senior leadership role, not an entry-level teaching job. The selection committee will look closely at candidates who have already worked at Principal or Director level, designed new vocational courses, published research or patents, or done consultancy for government or corporate clients.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The appointment is purely contractual for a maximum of 10 months. It does not carry a regular pay scale or any promise of extension.
• Consolidated pay: The monthly amount is fixed at the Principal's initial scale (basic, DA and HRA together) rather than a running pay band.
• Reservation: The minimum marks condition follows the reservation policy of the Government of Gujarat for reserved-category candidates.
• Grades to percentage: If your mark sheet shows grades instead of marks, you must bring proof of the equivalent class or percentage.
• Experience format: The bio-data form asks you to list Principal/Director experience separately from other teaching, and to mark undergraduate and postgraduate teaching clearly.

You can deliver it in person, by courier or by post, but it must reach the office by 5:00 PM on the last day — late arrivals are not considered.
