ESIC Surat Faculty and Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Medical College and Hospital, Surat is recruiting teaching faculty and Senior Residents for its medical college and hospital in Gujarat. The engagement supports teaching and patient care under the Ministry of Labour & Employment. • Professor: Faculty appointments in Anatomy, Biochemistry and Pediatrics at the Surat medical college.
• Associate Professor: Faculty appointments in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, Radiology and Surgery.
• Assistant Professor: Faculty appointments in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Dermatology, Eye, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, Radiology and Surgery.
• Senior Resident: Residency appointments in Anesthesiology, Dermatology, ENT, Eye, Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics and Radiology.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract period: Both faculty and Senior Residents start with a one-year engagement. Extension for a further two years depends on performance, conduct, willingness and the hospital’s needs; joining of a regular replacement can end the contract earlier.
• Private practice: Teaching faculty cannot take up private practice in any capacity after joining.
• Resignation: You must give one month’s notice or pay an amount equal to one month’s salary. Failure to follow this condition can result in loss of salary and the security deposit, and legal action.
• Security deposit: A deposit is due when you join. Refund depends on completing the contract and getting a no-dues certificate; leaving within six months normally results in forfeiture, with limited relaxation for unavoidable circumstances.
• Attendance: Unapproved absence beyond seven days is treated as leaving the engagement voluntarily. It can trigger automatic termination, forfeiture and legal action; teaching faculty must record daily attendance manually and through the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System.
• Accommodation: Hostel or quarters may be offered if available, but you cannot claim them as an entitlement.
• Reserved posts: If a suitable reserved-category applicant is unavailable, a temporary engagement of 44 days may be made and extended by another 44 days if needed.
• Disability reservation: A person appointed under the benchmark-disability quota is adjusted against their respective social category. Unfilled disability reservation may be carried forward under the conditions stated in the notice.
• Recruitment changes: The hospital can revise vacancies, amend the advertisement, postpone recruitment or cancel it. Check the official website for later notices; newspaper advertisements will not be issued for each subsequent round.
• Travel: You will not receive travel or daily allowance for attending or providing documents.
