Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tenure: The engagement can run for three years, with annual renewal based on a performance review. It may end earlier when a regular appointee joins or when you reach the service age ceiling stated in the notice.
• Ending the contract: Either side can end the engagement with one month's advance notice without giving a reason. Selection does not give you a right to confirmation or continued employment.
• Private practice: You cannot carry on private practice during your ESIC service. This restriction applies throughout the contractual engagement.
• Reserved posts: If a suitable applicant from the relevant reserved category is unavailable, ESIC may consider another category for a short contract of less than 45 days against SC, ST or OBC posts. Further renewal depends on a fresh advertisement and continued non-availability of reserved-category applicants.
• Higher-rank applicants: The notice allows consideration against a lower faculty rank, with possible upgrading of the post following the selection board's recommendation. Such placement is conditional, rather than automatic.
• Travel costs: ESIC will not cover travel or daily allowance for joining, the medical test or presenting further papers. Plan for these expenses yourself.
• Recruitment changes: The Dean may revise or cancel the advertised openings, stop recruitment for any post, or withdraw an engagement offer. Interview participation remains provisional, and an application alone does not guarantee an interview.
• Accuracy: Incomplete forms can be rejected. False declarations can lead to cancellation at any stage without advance notice, so check your application carefully.
